The following are examples of courses I have authored with a focus on faculty development. Because these courses are set up with public links, you can browse them in a read-only mode, but be aware that not all parts will function correctly if you are not actively enrolled in them.
This course was built as part of the certification process that all faculty at Chippewa Valley Technical College must complete within their first three years of teaching. The goal of this course is to guide faculty through the effective development and implementation of assessment in their instruction. The course addresses the following competencies:
Create a performance- based assessment plan
Employ a variety of formative assessment strategies
Employ a variety of summative assessment strategies
Communicate assessment results to promote student learning
Use assessment results to improve instruction
This course meets the Teaching Methods and Technology requirement of the certification process required by all faculty at Chippewa Valley Technical College. It is also one of the resources used during the onboarding process for all new faculty at the college. This course addresses the following competencies:
Explore instructional strategies
Create a plan for learning
Facilitate learning
Revise teaching practice
Analyze learning theories and models/cycles
This course was developed to provide essential guidance to new adjunct faculty at Chippewa Valley Technical College. It provides a condensed version of many competencies addressed throughout the certification process required for full-time college faculty.
