Farewell Address Ticket

Farewell Address Ticket

Senator Dole ended his Senate career in 1996 when he resigned from the Senate to give all his time and effort to his third and final presidential campaign. He intentionally left to campaign with nothing to fall back on, confident that he would win the presidency and joked about that in his farewell address. Although he would win the Republican Party’s nomination, he would ultimately lose to incumbent President Bill Clinton, ending his political career. In his farewell address, Senator Dole thanked all of the people who had supported him along the way and reminiscing on all of the good that he had accomplished while serving.
