Session 6
Finding the Face in the Stone
Finding the Face in the Stone
Using Morhen's Kes'trekel companion the group is able to use clues gained from Karlen to locate 'where the devil's horn threads the tunnel in the sky' to help them find the possible location for the ruins of The Face in the Stone.
Unfortunately the group is not the first to arrive and there are a group of tarek raiders tossing caravan members into a giant whirling dervish that reaches well into the sky and boarded by two cliff faces.
After surprising the Tarek the group fought a tough battle to defeat them and rescued six members of the House of Shom trade caravan, including one druid named Safi. They learned that the caravan was on its way to the Dwarven city of Kled when they got lost and saw the tall wind storm and decided to head towards it. It was then that they were ambushed by the Tarek and taken prisoner.
Understanding that the mysterious ruins may magically disappear the group had to hurry and make their way past the wall of wind. Some got through easily enough but Shank struggled and after many difficult tries Safi also made it.
Beyond the storm the group learned how the ruins got their name. In front of the gaping maw of the stone ruins stood two large obelisks almost as teeth. Behind this they could see sparks and some type of humanoid eyes staring back at them.
The pillars were electrical traps and after a couple of shocking interactions the group disabled the trap by locating a panel. Fazanna used her mage hand to disarm them.
The humanoid eyes turned out to be a primitive creature known as hejkin. These creatures can create electrical sparks and walk through stone. After bribing the creatures with some food, the party avoided a confrontation and decided to rest throughout the night. Both groups warily watched each other throughout the night with no conflict.
