Session 23
Sidequest on the Silt Sea
Sidequest on the Silt Sea
Some members that had remained in Altaruk were wandering outside the gates on the side of the Silt Sea when they noticed a group gathering near the docks. Upon investigation they saw a battered silt skimmer pull into port.
Mahlanda then requested that they accompany captain Ulk and investigate the causes of these attacks that threaten everyone in Altaruk.
On their journey a silt storm soon appeared on the horizon and threatened to engulf them all with a horrible slow suffocating death from the silt and dust. But having been forewarned of such an occurence they were prepared with scarves covered in water.
The silt skimmer came crashing to a halt as it ran aground on some boulders. The group gathered with ropes attaching them to the ship to disperse the rocks when they were set upon by vicious silt eels.
They were able to dispatch the nasty eels but two of them suffered an infectious bite and would soon lose their legs if not treated.
A couple days out, and still only halfway to their destination a group of giants began to hurl boulders at them from afar. The giants waded out to them attempting to capture the ship. Through the great crewmanship and help of the party they were able to avoid most of the damage and make their escape.
As the silt-skimmer rounded an island everyone was bombarded by a psychic stunning blast. Off the port side was a huge creature that began to approach, swimming through the silt.
The party lept over and began to chase and do battle. A couple of fireballs from Fazanna forced the creature to flee back to the island and its lair.
Not having enough time to wait and rest, due to the diseased legs, they decided to confront the beast in its lair. Had it not been so damaged by the fireballs it might have been a deadly encounter. And although it was still difficult they managed to kill the beast.
They attempted to harvest some of its more useful parts but due to the extensive fore damage they were only able to collect were some of the irridescent scales.
