Chapter 1: Fire in the Streets
Following the plumes of black smoke the heroes found cliff-gliders hard at work burning sections of town. From the rooftops and below they dodged flaming pots, put out fires and evacuated civilians from their homes while trying to shoot the gliders from the sky.
The battle was quick and brutal but eventually they succeeded. Just as they had finished dispatching the last of them when a militia member approached them and said they were needed at the gate.

Smashing its way through the large gate was a snake-headed giant. Standing nearly twenty feet tall the enraged beast was wreathed in dancing orange flames.
The group battled the bellowing bestial creature and was inflicting damage when two elven defilers appeared over the wall. The arduous battle continued before the group slew all three, to the cheers of the other defenders.
The falling of the giant and the defilers broke the will of the remainder of the attacking slave tribes who then fled into the desert.

A limping Mahlanda made her way through the cheering throng and approached the party. She explained that she had hoped that they, and the Veiled Alliance would be out of reach of the True but it seems that the trouble followed them here. She then exclaimed that she needed to tell them about her relationship with Obadias.
