"In the harsh and unforgiving landscapes of Dark Sun, the eladrin stand as elusive echoes of a forgotten era, guardians of a realm suspended between the Feywild and the Dragon’s Bowl. Their decadent society, shrouded in mirages and protected by formidable psionic traps, remains a testament to their enduring quest for preservation amidst the desolation of Athas." - The Wanderer
Beings attuned to the Way with deep connections to nature, eladrin inhabit cities within the twilight realm of the Feywild. These cities occasionally intersect with the world, manifesting momentarily in mountain valleys or secluded forest clearings before returning to the Feywild. Eladrin are skilled warriors and psionic practitioners, navigating the mystical twilight of the Feywild with grace.

Eladrin are of human height. They are slim, and even the strongest simply look athletic rather than musclebound. They have the same range of complexions as humans, though they are more often fair than dark. Their straight, fine hair is often white, silver, or pale gold, and they wear it long and loose. Their ears are long and pointed, and their eyes are pearly and opalescent orbs of vibrant blue, violet, or green, lacking pupils. Eladrin can’t grow facial hair and have little body hair. Eladrin children grow much as human children do, but their aging process slows to a crawl when they reach maturity. They enjoy youth and health for most of their lives and don’t begin to feel the effects of age until the middle of their third century. Most live for over 300 years, and even at the end they suffer few of the infirmities of old age.

In the harsh terrain of Dark Sun, the eladrin exist on the border between the Feywild and the unforgiving natural landscape. They construct their intricate cities and spires in places of profound natural beauty, where the veil between worlds is thin—secluded mountain valleys, verdant islands along tumultuous coasts, and the deep heart of ancient forests. Some eladrin domains primarily reside in the Feywild, only sporadically connecting with the world, while others materialize at sunset, fading back into the Feywild at dawn.
Long-lived and intimately bound to the Feywild, eladrin possess a detached perspective on the world. They often struggle to perceive the significance of worldly events, contemplating courses of action that span centuries. This general detachment may render eladrin distant and formidable to other races, and their fey nature evokes both allure and trepidation. Despite this, eladrin hold friendships and alliances dear, responding with swift wrath when their friends are jeopardized. This loyalty, combined with their intellect, courage, and psionic prowess, establishes them as potent and respected allies.
Eladrin adhere to an aesthetic philosophy prevalent in the Feywild. They strive to embody grace, skill, and wisdom in every aspect of life, from artistic expressions like dance and song to the mastery of swordplay and psionics. Their cities serve as showcases of breathtaking beauty, molding and guiding the surrounding desolation into elegant forms.
Eladrin exhibit a stronger affinity for the Feywild and psionics compared to elves, fostering mutual respect between the two races.
Within the potent psionics of the Feywild, the most esteemed eladrin, known as noble eladrin, undergo a profound transformation, acquiring characteristics reminiscent of the elements and other natural phenomena.
