Backstory

In the harsh world of Athas, survival is the primary concern for most beings. For a young male elf named Sils, however, life was relatively comfortable. He lived with his merchant parents in their modest house in the city-state of Tyr. Despite the comfortable life, Sils longed for adventure. However, his parents were not keen on their only child venturing out into the unknown. Undeterred, Sils began sneaking out of the house at night, exploring the city. Seeing his enthusiasm, a neighbor merchant sold him a map which depicted a remote location deep within Tyr underground, where a powerful artifact was said to be hidden. Excited, Sils set out into the underground. He faced many dangers along the way, from puzzling pathways and traps to dangerous creatures. After many hours of exploring, Sils finally reached his destination, a hidden room obscured by magic. Inside, he found the artifact, a powerful amulet. Sils knew he had found what he had been searching for and returned home. When he returned, his parents were shocked to discover that he had gone on such a dangerous journey. However, Sils's newfound confidence and bravery impressed them. Sils's journey had changed him forever. He was no longer content with a life of comfort and safety. Instead, he sought out new adventures and challenges.
