National Security

Our border is currently being overrun with illegal immigrants. In a time when the very nature of our borders are being questioned, we need a President who supports a nation with strong borders. That is why I believe that no illegal immigrants should be granted Citizenship. I support the path to permanent residency and should they want Citizenship, they must enter the legal way. Should an illegal immigrant commit a crime, then, and only then, do I support deportation. I am however, a firm believer in Legal Immigration, something I have championed in Dixie. This is a critical issue and one that takes critical leadership from a Governor who has had to deal with these issues before.

We currently need a lot more funding for our Veterans and a lot less funding for tanks, bombs, and missiles. Our military is the best in the world and I am extremely proud of that, but we face a budget crisis and must recognize we have to live within our means. I support authorizing the Secretary of Defense to audit our Defense budget to determine our needs as the budget has been gutted for years on end. And in that period of time that we have built the greatest military, we have forgotten the ones who built it. The Veterans of this nation are our heroes and deserve to be treated as such, the fact that we have done such a poor job of taking care of them is a great shame. We cannot allow that to persist.

We must employ a much more careful Non-Interventionist policy when we conduct ourselves around the world. We cannot afford to lose trillions of dollars and thousands of lives on wars rushed into and even more quickly rushed out of. We cannot continue to rely on the Middle East for Oil, which is why I am a staunch supporter of Energy Independence. However, we must continue to support our crucial interests and allies around the world. Preeminently among these, Israel. I oppose American recognition of Palestine and support a One-State Israeli solution. We can never back down in defense of our allies.
