Lending Library

Due to a generous donation from the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation in 2021 the DMNB PoCUS club is able to lend 6 Butterfly iQ ultra-portable ultrasound probes to DMNB students. The probes connect to compatible Apple (iPhone, iPad) and Android (Samsung, Google, OnePlus) devices so students can practice at school, home, or in a variety of clinical settings. 

Currently there are 2 probes with Lightening connection for Apple products and 4 probes with USB-C connections for Android products and some Apple products.

• Step 1: Read all of the steps :)

• Step 2: Read the terms and conditions

• Step 3: Open the "Probe Availability Schedule" spreadsheet below and write your name in a time slot for a given probe

• Step 4: Complete the lending form. Email DMNB Learning Resource Centre at dmnblrc@dal.ca. 

• Step 5: Promptly arrive at DMNB room 239 on Mondays and Thursdays between 1200-1400 to pick up your probe.

• Step 6: Have fun and learn about PoCUS. Repeat this step as many times as the terms and conditions allow.

• Step 7: Clean and charge the probe fully.

• Step 8: Promptly drop off you probe at DMNB room 239 on Mondays and Thursdays between 1000-1200. Late returns may suffer the consequences of probe prohibition in the future.

• Probes are available to be rented for one of two time periods:

  • • Monday - Thursday (drop off 1000-1200, pick up 1200-1400)

    • Thursday - Monday (drop off 1000-1200, pick up 1200-1400)

• You may only sign up for one probe and time slot at a time.

• If you need to cancel your probe loan, remove your name from the spreadsheet and contact us as soon as possible.

• If there is a holiday or the school is closed on the day you have booked the probe, please email DMNB Learning Resource Centre at dmnblrc@dal.ca to arrange an alternative pick up/drop off.
  
  Help! How do I use this spreadsheet?
  To book a slot in the spreadsheet, simply hover your cursor over the spreadsheet below and click the grey arrow that will appear in the top right corner. This will take you to the spreadsheet where you simply have to enter your name in a time slot (column titled "Student Name") for one of the probes. Remember which probe you chose and what dates you chose it for as the lending form will ask you for them.
