Addressing in Networks

Dear Learners,

In this Learning Dialog (LeD) we discuss about the concepts of network addressing in detail. This LeD has three videos and a few questions.

We will start with a discussion on the different types of addresses used in a network communication such as physical address or the mac address, the IP address and the memory friendly logical address.

Now that you are aware of the different types of addresses, let us look into details of the IP address and how are networks formed and classified based on them.

In this last dialog, we will look at address translation and why do we need it.

With this we come to the end of this learning dialog. In the next LeD we will discuss more about IP addresses, how they can help us in building different networks and the internet as a whole.
