Aditi Barman Roy's doctoral research explores the intersection of bioethics and posthumanism in speculative fiction. Drawing on interdisciplinary frameworks, Aditi's research interrogates the ethical architectures of imagined futures, particularly as they intersect with questions of embodiment and techo-social justice. Her dissertation is titled "Our (Post)Human Future: Investigating the Intersections of Bioethics and Posthumanism in Select Speculative Fiction ".
Aditi is the recipient of several renowned research fellowships and grants, including the Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma (2025). She was also awarded the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) travel grant to present her research on biomedical surveillance and organ trade at the "Interdisciplinary Bodies" conference at Brunel University, London. More recently, she has been awarded the highly competitive and prestigious Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship, enabling her to pursue advanced research in literary biomedicine in the United States. She is also a teaching assistant in NPTEL course on 'Narrative Mode and Fiction'.
