Hello and Welcome! I'm Dr. Aisyah Saad from Universiti Sains Malaysia. The last four years I started my journey as a digital Leader in higher education. I have transformed the majority of my presentations into videos, use a lot of digital tools (web and mobile) for my personal and professional use. I approach teaching through blended learning, combining technology and face-to-face sessions. Many of my lectures have been repurposed to active, peer learning.

This transformation is from inside out–meaning that I started with myself, changing my beliefs and attitudes, therefore my perspectives on higher education and Life. It's been a slow and steady climb but very rewarding journey. Particularly when I get to connect with my Digital Native students. Awesome!!

Briefly, I'm USM MOOC manager and hold a PhD (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) from University of Nottingham. I'm a pharmacist registered with the Malaysia Pharmacy Board. Prior to joining the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2005, I worked in Ipoh Hospital and retail pharmacies in Penang.

I am the recipient of the USM Teaching Excellence Award (Anugerah Pendidik Sanjungan 2012) for interactive and innovative approaches in teaching and learning. My application was shortlisted in the top 50 for the Wharton-QS Stars Reimagining Education Award 2014 out of over 400 submissions. Currently she is CDAE Trainer and Malaysian Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT) Mastertrainer for Interactive Lecture programme–conducting small and large workshops at university and national levels.

I love using visual stories to teach chemistry to her pharmacy undergraduates. My students describe their experiences in chemistry lectures as "active", "interactive", "very creative", "fresh", "interesting" and "making the learning process enjoyable".

I actively involved in training of educators at higher education. The workshops that I currently conduct and offer are Presentation Makeover for Educators, MOOC with OpenLearning, Presentations Skills (Educators, Scientists and Researchers, Undergraduates), Essential Web 2.0 Tools for Educators, Interactive Lecture, Learning Management Systems (LMS: Edmodo, Moodle, OpenLearning).
