Deep Learning Barcelona Symposium
The Deep Learning Barcelona Symposium (DLBCN) aims at showcasing the research developed by scientists in/from Barcelona, that is, scientists who currently work in Barcelona or who pursued part of their academic career in Barcelona. This unique meeting gathers multidisciplinary researchers in the field of deep learning, and shows the potential of the capital to become the AI hub in Southern Europe. The second edition of this symposium will be held on Thursday 19th & Friday 20th of December 2019 in the city of Barcelona (venue to be decided). The event is free for both presenters and attendees.
Presenters
The presenters in the oral or poster sessions of the Deep Learning Barcelona Symposium must have developed part of their research career or academic studies in the city of Barcelona or its proximity, whether currently or in the past.
Call for Speakers
The call for speakers in the oral sessions aims at researchers who have published in top tier conferences or journals, preferably during 2018 and 2019, and whose contributions are closely related to the theory or applications of deep neural networks. The talk may focus on one or multiple papers.
We provide, as a reference, the publication venues and h5-index from the works presented during the oral sessions in DLBCN 2018: CVPR (240), NeurIPS (169), ICLR (150), ECCV (137), ICML (135), ICCV (129), ACL (106), EMNLP (88), ICASSP (80), INTERSPEECH (65) NAACL (61), COLING (41).
Call for Posters
The call for posters invites researchers who have a peer reviewed publication during 2019, and whose contributions are closely related to the theory or applications of deep neural networks. The aim of the poster session is creating opportunities for discussion and networking between junior and senior researchers, both local or from overseas. Doctoral students are especially encouraged to submit their work, even if unpublished (indicate ‘Phd thesis’ as a venue in that case).
Contents of the presentation or poster
The contents of the presentations should cover the contents of the referred publications, but presenters are also encouraged to include related posterior work and discuss future research directions.
Selection criteria for presenters
The selection of DLBCN Symposium speakers not only aims at high scientific quality, but also targets diversity from different perspectives, including gender, institutions and research groups, local and overseas speakers, covered topics, and talks no previous editions of the symposium. Those candidates who are not included in the speaker’s program despite meeting excellent scientific standards, will be invited to present their work as a poster.
The program will be defined by a representation of all organizing institutions. See the full list of chairs here.
