Interaction in the classroom is mostly initiated by teachers through oral communication. We increase classroom interaction when students have opportunities to express ideas and get feedback from teachers. How can teachers interact with learners? Student interaction factors: 1. Know your students. 2. Create a welcoming learning atmosphere. Make students feel comfortable and happy. 3. Set and communicate expectations. 4. Encourage students to interact positively with one another. Classroom interaction increases motivation, self-confidence, and self-esteem when children engage in a classroom activity or discussion, they might feel motivated to discuss further. This practice is useful to build children's self-confidence. We will increase interaction in the classroom if we connect learning to real life, engage with our students, use group work and collaboration, encourage students to present and share work, get our students moving, and give students freedom.
Reflection. Increasing classroom interaction helps learners develop language learning and social skills and so maximising interaction in the classroom. It's an important part of the teacher's role. If student interaction is poor, the classroom environment can feel unpredictable and unsafe. In this module I learned the new activities: Find someone who, Guiding the artist, Think-Pair-Share, Magic Bag. The most interesting activity was ''Find Someone Who''.It is an easy way for students to connect with one another and overcome shyness. I used this activity with my pupils in my lesson. This activity involved students by asking them to try to find someone in the class who matches a description or knows certain information. All students had an opportunity to interact and they could also correct each other mistakes.
