Bio
DJ DeDe (real name: Deanna Ebblewhite) is a singer-songwriter, rapper, musician and producer hailed from Nottinghamshire. She is diagnosed with autism, cerebral palsy and periventricular leukomalacia (PVL).
Born on Wednesday December 11th 1996, DeDe was raised by her mother and father at the hospital. She didn't start talking and walking until 2003 where on the same year, she started singing at school shows and assemblies. DeDe also discovered her passion of music, taking piano and vocal lessons at the early age of seven years old.
Her love of pop, R&B, dance and hip-hop music jumpstarted her career in 2018 on SoundCloud by doing instrumental songs based on a cartoon, but it wasn't until Spring 2020 during the lockdown where DeDe joined in the music streaming stage with her debut EP, 1st Thngs 1st. This EP featured six songs, both vocally and instrumentally.
At the end of July, she released her debut album Girl from the Valley, which includes the three singles Folklore, Pain Not Pleasure and Piece of U. Mixing her lyrics about relationships, empowerment, dancing, coming-of-age and heartbreak with her vocal skills, DJ DeDe was at the beginning stages of becoming famous.
Over the course of 2021, DeDe started working on her sophomore album in and out of college due to the aid of the online songwriting sessions on Teams. From then on, she released four singles Lick of the Knife, Mystery Boy, This Cold and Rich Yet Sweet. In August of that year, DeDe released her second album VIRTUOSE, which became an instant hit amongst general listeners far and wide thanks to the popularity of her second single Mystery Boy.
With her promising future as a multi-talented songstress, songwriter, instrumentalist, rapper and producer, DJ DeDe will always tell everyone in the world to "respect the spectrum."

Mystery Boy:
So I can see the day rushing into the night
And every time I blink I lose a bit of my mind
Then I start to think of you
The words you speak inspire me
I like to know just who you really are
If only I can paint a picture of your face
Have you ever thought about
What's it like being a shadow
I dreamt about my own
Mystery boy
From the day I see him
Who is he that etched my mind
Sometimes I just pretend
Like he don't exist
If I see him again
The more I can remember
I start to imagine the things he does
Is he the one who scribbles sweet symphonies
'Cos I only wanna hear his voice
Such potential words touched my heart
I want to get to know him for a little while
See the personality of it all
Should I look into him deeper
For a bit of exploration
I dreamt about my own
Mystery boy
From the day I see him
Who is he that etched my mind
Sometimes I just pretend
Like he don't exist
If I see him again
The more I can remember
Who
Is that boy
I long to believe
Am I just imagining it
Or is it real
Could he be
Every girl's dream
I just want to be sure
I dreamt about my own
Mystery boy
From the day I see him
Who is he that etched my mind
Sometimes I just pretend
Like he don't exist
If I see him again
The more I can remember
Lick of the Knife:
You say you sweared by me
You say you respected me
You say I love you on the phone
Tonight
You say you wanted me so bad
You say you'd stand by me
You say you were loyal to me
But I digress
I soon realized you've hit the skids
When you're walking out the door
You crossed me for the last time
Watch me undo everything I have
You had one more chance to fix my broken heart
Doesn't help your heart is feeling cold
If you want it this way, I'm leaving
Don't expect me to drain these tears
With a lick of the knife, you made the cut
What else do you have that can shatter me
Our love is well beyond repair
You'll send your blowouts over to me
Good thing I'm over it with you
You called me Little Miss Perfect
Now you made me Little Miss Mopey
There's no such nonsense
With the way you say to me
You had some multiple chances
But you left your heart on ice
Now I know your true self
Willing to hate me
This is what made me crossed the line
When you saw another girl
You've gone and done it for the last time
Watch me undo everything I have
You had one more chance to fix my broken heart
Doesn't help your heart is feeling cold
If you want it this way, I'm leaving
Don't expect me to drain these tears
With a lick of the knife, you made the cut
What else do you have that can shatter me
Our love is well beyond repair
You'll send your blowouts over to me
Good thing I'm over it with you
You treated me like a princess
But you turned me to rags
You used to be the one standing by me
However you made me an enemy
All that distrust, all the deceitful
Stuff that made us sink
Below the surface of the world
Now I'm getting to the bottom of this once and for all
You had one more chance to fix my broken heart
Doesn't help your heart is feeling cold
If you want it this way, I'm leaving
Don't expect me to drain these tears
With a lick of the knife, you made the cut
What else do you have that can shatter me
Our love is well beyond repair
You'll send your blowouts over to me
Good thing I'm over it with you
This Cold:
Glad to see you came home
With a look upon your face
Just a deep, blank stare
Before you walked away
Maybe I was feeling stupid
I don't how you made me mad
Aren't you feeling up to me
'Cos you never said I love you
Stand up and talk to me
If you ever still trust me
How am I going to explain to you
When you want to cut me off
On these wintery nights
I have to wonder about
Whether your heart is still mine
From what I can see
You never cared at all
From the bottom of your frozen heart
Weren't you all I have
'Cos it's hard to thaw you over
Your words only feel this cold
Remember a timeless tale
About a queen casting spells
On someone who frees
His blistering cold heart
Your soul is an avalanche
Full of nasty words you yell at
I can't help but move away
From your icy looks you gave me
Stand up and talk to me
If you ever still trust me
How am I going to explain to you
When you want to cut me off
On these wintery nights
I have to wonder about
Whether your heart is still mine
From what I can see
You never cared at all
From the bottom of your frozen heart
Weren't you all I have
'Cos it's hard to thaw you over
Your words only feel this cold
You can make some space for yourself
I don't mind about it
Think about the lines you say
I'm the one who can save you
If you have it your way
I'll go my way, take the time off
And do your thing, be considerate
About what you want to say
On these wintery nights
I have to wonder about
Whether your heart is still mine
From what I can see
You never cared at all
From the bottom of your frozen heart
Weren't you all I have
'Cos it's hard to thaw you over
Your words only feel this cold
Rich Yet Sweet:
I never met a man just like you
Got the clothes the car and the crib too
You got a taste of that loving
All that's left now is your touch
So smooth and caring, you bring me joy
And I gotta ask you one thing, are you mine
The world needs to know how you respect me
In a very special way like a hero can protect me
Under the sunshine, the sky is the limit
My heart told me to go for it, it's not difficult innit?
Well sit tight and I can take you there
To places you've never been, you're in my hair
And I cannot get you out, couldn't care
About what you do to me, this isn't truth or dare
It's a real thing that melts my heart
Like custard you get with a treacle tart
So fine and sexy, my baby
I can't even describe what you are
I get this feeling in my head that
You know I gotta have you, dear
So rich, yet sweet, oh darling
That tender touch wins me over
I get this feeling in my head that
You know I gotta have you, baby
All the girls be getting jealous on how you look
Me? You're a perfect ten because you took
My soul into a whole 'nother level
Please let this love last as a packet of Revels
There's no need to look away now, boy
Watch me shed these clothes as we begin to deploy
The coordinates of my bedroom
I'm on the TV screen looking at you like Max Headroom
You make me feel like a new kind of woman
What can I say, you are always a true man
Searching for the perfect grown girl
Who can satisfy me and make my world
Come true, true love is the key
To the heart and soul of someone who sees
Your perfect intuitions come alive
Let's get out of this town, just you and I
So fine and sexy, my baby
I can't even describe what you are
I get this feeling in my head that
You know I gotta have you, dear
So rich, yet sweet, oh darling
That tender touch wins me over
I get this feeling in my head that
You know I gotta have you, baby
The club's getting packed up in here
I don't want to be surrounded by noise in my ears
I want you to keep me here
Forever and always, I have no fear
When I am close to you, the pain goes away
So let me be your one and only starting today
You can start by bringing us close together
And in the end, we can make it last forever
You know that I will be there 24/7
Until the day we die and send us to Heaven
That's what you call love, sent from above
That ring you gave me fits like a glove
Sweet like chocolate, like a piece of a puzzle
In the words of Jay Z, you can't knock the hustle
So fine and sexy, my baby
I can't even describe what you are
I get this feeling in my head that
You know I gotta have you, dear
So rich, yet sweet, oh darling
That tender touch wins me over
I get this feeling in my head that
You know I gotta have you, baby
Bigger Than a Monster:
I cannot make up for your monstrosity
And I can understand that you're an atrocity
But still I think you look so good
Something tells me you're really aloof
When these other chicks come at you
They think you're crazy as the cover you blew
But I think you real sly
So nice, you wouldn't catch a fly
I found the perfect you
Just don't be acting blue
I will be waiting in the night
Making love to you until daylight
You're bigger than a monster
Can't nobody control you that way
Your looks feel bad but it could be better
Ain't nobody gonna take your soul
You're bigger than a monster
Why can't real love be like that
As long as I got you in your arms
I'm so lost for the devil in you
You can be a winged freak taking me away
To a place fifteen miles from the crazies
You can be a burly giant who's lazy
Eating nothing but the munchies
You can be a pale man that'll bite me alive
Or a madman living the high life
I can picture just who you are
No matter if you're too afar
I found the perfect you
Just don't be acting blue
I will be waiting in the night
Making love to you until daylight
You're bigger than a monster
Can't nobody control you that way
Your looks feel bad but it could be better
Ain't nobody gonna take your soul
You're bigger than a monster
Why can't real love be like that
As long as I got you in your arms
I'm so lost for the devil in you
I can look into your eyes
Your demonic smirk took me in new heights
Of the insanity that knows you're psycho
Can't hold a scream or a cry, ohh
I'm loving the highlights
Of your passion and your lifestyle
Even though you are in the gutter
You will forever be my monster
You're bigger than a monster
Can't nobody control you that way
Your looks feel bad but it could be better
Ain't nobody gonna take your soul
You're bigger than a monster
Why can't real love be like that
As long as I got you in your arms
I'm so lost for the devil in you
Trinidadian-American rapper and singer-songwriter Nicki Minaj is an example of my similar music content because the majority of her songs consist of pop and hip-hop songs while also interpolating R&B, club and electronic music with songs like Turn Me On, Where Dem Girls At (both by David Guetta), and Starships.
Her target audience is aimed at mainly females with some of the audience aimed at male people because her lyrical content discusses about female topics (i.e. feminism, bisexuality...) in most of her music content. The thing with her and my music material is alike due to the variety of music genres that music listeners old and new will listen to. Blending in a mix of pop, R&B and electronic songs in each of the songs, those people who like my music could listen to Nicki's tracks so that they will hearken to the former.
My music content is similar to Swedish singer-songwriter and record producer Robyn Carlsson because back in her early years, she combined pop music with R&B influences in songs like Show Me Love and You Got That Somethin'. Since then, she departed from her early sound and moved on to electronic music in her current work; she still incorporates pop and R&B music in a few of her new songs since the singer's self-titled album Robyn in 2005.
Robyn's target audience is aimed at teens in her early years and later adults (preferably females for both; 13-24) when she transitioned to electronic music through 2005 onward. Her mix between pop, R&B, hip-hop and electronic music sounds akin to my music content; most of the songs contain her singing while a few of them contain her rapping.
If my target audience likes my music, they would like Robyn's music as well, especially those who are from Sweden, due to the ingenious prominence of dance music in her music style.
Sixteen
F#m, G#m, A
A, G#m, F#m
When I was sixteen
I used to think about love
In the city streets
Where we'll run away
It was pure heaven
With the way we started young
Where did those days
I want to reconnect with you
The last time I'm young in love
I'm only sixteen
When you're in a prom suit
You were the best thing I've seen
The last thing I remember
I was just dreaming
And if you're here with me, take me back
To when I was sixteen
Sitting by the park
Under the autumn leaves
I keep fantasizing you
Holding hands in the sunset
I'm only a teenager
Listening to old time love songs
Up by the window
Waiting on you
Its lyrical content depicts of the time a teenager discovers young love at the age of only sixteen years old. Combined with its teen-pop ballad music production, Sixteen is a touching ballad that will warm the hearts of my target audience, especially those who have been in a relationship on the positive side.
I have made my choice to do the song for my fans because I came up with the idea alongside Jacob, Isobel and George to create a song that had an experience in relationships as a young teenager. I came up with the lyrics while Jacob created a chord arrangement for the song on his guitar so that I can play along with it on the keyboard.
Considering that my music is aimed at teens and adults, I hope that teenagers can enjoy Sixteen due to its heartwarming lyrics and relaxing chord arrangements. They can discuss about falling in love at the age of sixteen years old, particularly those who had an experience at that age.
Use Somebody:
Chords:
C, G, F (x2), Am, G, F (x2)
Bridge: D, F#
I've been roaming around
Always looking down at all I see
Painted faces, fill the places I can't reach
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you, and all you know, and how you speak
Countless lovers under cover of the street
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you
Off in the night, while you live it up, I'm off to sleep
Waging wars to shape the poet and the beat
I hope it's gonna make you notice
I hope it's gonna make you notice
Someone like me
Someone like me
Someone like me, somebody
I'm ready now [x7]
Someone like you, somebody [x3]
I've been roaming around
Always looking down at all I see
Lyrically, Use Somebody depicts a person who is looking for somebody in terms of personality. It could be a lover, family member or a friend, though it doesn't give a clarification of someone's characteristics in the song.
It is my choice to do this cover for my target audience because I have listened to Use Somebody a few times using aural skills and I have remembered the lyrics off by heart while singing. Throughout lockdown, I've been trying to learn its chord arrangement and I remembered the chords of the verses and choruses prior to practicing the bridge using my keyboard.
The target audience of Kings of Leon is aimed at men and with these male fans who have listened to the original by the American rock band, they would like my cover of Use Somebody as well, even ones who were in lockdown at the time.

Lyrically, Mystery Boy is about a woman trying to recognize who that boy is. She begins to explore about his personality and characteristics (e.g. in the second verse, he is singing sweet melodies and creating symphonies of his own) because the more she guesses who that mystery man is, the more that she can memorize him in more ways than one.
It is my creative choice to make for my target audience because I was in the process of developing my second studio album VIRTUOSE, which came out two months back in August. The song's simple chord arrangement and the first two lines of the first verse helped me expand on my lyric structure.
