Schedule of the Day

Greek Day is a whole day event, designed to accommodate a daily school schedule lasting from 8:00am to 3:00pm.

Two versions of the schedule are given below, depending on the availability of a walkable area for students to complete an architecture based scavenger hunt (Schedule A). If leaving campus is not an option (or if local architecture does not include substantial amounts of classically inspired buildings), Schedule B introduces two additional activity stations to take up that time.

It is helpful to print copies of the schedule to hang throughout the spaces where Greek Day will take place, both for teachers and students. Adding the location of each event to your schedule will help the day run smoothly.

Schedule A

8:00 - 9:00 Opening Ceremony

9:00 - 9:45 Activity Station 1*

9:45 - 10:30 Activity Station 2*

10:30 - 10:45 Snack Break

10:45 - 12:00 Architecture Scavenger Hunt

12:00 - 12:45 Lunch

12:45 - 1:15 Catapult Test**

1:15 - 3:00 Olympic Games

Schedule B

8:00 - 9:00 Opening Ceremony

9:00 - 9:45 Activity Station 1*

9:45 - 10:30 Activity Station 2*

10:30 - 10:45 Snack Break

10:45 - 11:30 Activity Station 3*

11:30 - 12:20 Activity Station 4*

12:20 - 1:00 Lunch

1:00 - 1:30 Catapult Test**

1:30 - 3:00 Olympics

* Activity stations are designed for students to cycle through with their city-state group. For example, if the two activity stations are Weaving and Ceramics, Group 1 is at Weaving while Group 2 is at Ceramics, then they switch.

**If you do not have a large catapult for the Catapult test, this time can easily be added to the Olympic Games portion of the day.

If your daily school schedule cannot accommodate an entire day of Greek Day, feel free to adjust the schedule to suit your needs by cutting events as needed, but bear in mind that the duration of each activity should remain roughly the same.
