The following activity stations allow students to gain hands on experience of activities that would have been familiar to citizens of the ancient Greek city-states. These activities should be introduced to students during their classwork on ancient Greece so they have some background knowledge before beginning the activity.
Activity stations should be set up at distinct locations and students should remain at their activity station for the entirety of the scheduled time. Students can either leave their completed work at their activity station or bring it to their city-state home base when they are finished at their station.
Depending on the amount of available staff, supervision at activity stations can work two ways. If you have more staff available, each activity station can be manned by a dedicated teacher/staff member who can instruct students in one specific activity as they travel with their city-state leader (teacher/staff member) to each activity. If you have less staff available, each city-state leader should know how to complete each activity with students.
There are more activity stations provided than available activity slots. You can pick and choose which activities work best for your students or even save some activities for a rainy day!
More activity stations ideas coming soon!
