CLASSROOM RECORDS AND THEIR PURPOSE

1. LESSON PLAN

PURPOSE: A lesson plan serves as a guide that a teacher uses every day to determine what the students will learn, how the lesson will be taught as well as how learning will be evaluated. Lesson plans gives teacher's a detailed outline of what that they adhere to during each class. A lesson plan also serve as a evidence for the teacher's to indicate that a lesson was taught.

2. RECORD OF WORK (JOURNAL)

PURPOSE: To record what has been taught for each week for the various subjects and levels.

3. CLASS TIMETABLE

PURPOSE: A time table ensures that each class has only a teacher during learning hours for a particular period. Time table also reduces the confusion while learning for both the learners and teachers.

4. PUPIL’S ATTENDANCE REGISTER

PURPOSE: Is used to record the regularity and punctuality of students per class.

5. CLASS LOGBOOK

PURPOSE: A log book is a way to record and keep track of events that occurs in the class teacher classroom. Log books are important classroom management tools that can be used in a variety of ways such as recording tardy students entering the classroom, communication with students' parents, student-teacher conferences and keeping track of misdemeanor.

6. SCHEME OF WORK(TERMLY)

PURPOSE: Termly scheme of work is to help teachers plan and sequence their lessons in advance, in such that they can make sure that all course content is taught before the school year ends and to not leave any content out.

7. REPORT BOOKLETS

PURPOSE: These reports are meant to show the students’ progress in the classroom, and display the postions and grades of each subject. There is also usually a section that reflects the student's motor, social, and behavioral skills as well.

8. MARKS BOOK

PURPOSE: To record children's progress and achievement. So, after teachers marked a piece of work, the teacher grade that work and record it in the marks book.
