The first mouse born since the genocide ended, the child of Ratté and Mel. While they started as a frightened, clingy, and strangely-behaved child, they found themself often being on the receiving end of coldness and cruelty. They never really understood why- not until they took matters into their own paws, and found out.

They almost died in an accident while on an adventure and went deaf due to brain damage caused by a falling rock.  A lifetime of alienation left them jaded and angry at the world for wronging them- and they only became more disgusted and horrified upon realising this wasn't the first time the world had wronged them.

Growing up, they became close with another kid their age named Lyle. The pair wound up together not too long after Dés' accident. Together with Lyle, they're working to recover what has been hidden about the formerly dead tyrant.

James was very sickly growing up, developing a rare disease in his preteens that left his life expectancy looking grim. 

His best friend Swapsy died in a freak accident- or so he'd thought. They came back as the new Vessel of Peace. They set out to find a way to save James, with Zalam attempting to guide them through it. Swapsy rushed through the required ritual to fix James, and as a result, it was botched. 

In the aftermath, he suffered from what could almost be described as magical rabies. His lifespan was prolonged, but he lost all control of himself and after a struggle and Swapsy panicking, he ran off. He becomes incredibly violent when approached and thus any attempts to save him were futile- as after this incident, Swapsy was no longer able to carry out their duties as a Vessel. 

He spent years living out in the woods alone, any bystanders unfortunate enough to come across him winding up injured or dead.

A few years after Maus was adorned as a Vessel, they'd track him down in an attempt to kill him once and for all after a misunderstanding in a conversation with Swapsy.

Before Maus could finish the job, Swapsy managed to find them and stop them before they could deal the final blow and shoo them off. 

Swapsy, distraught at the fact she may have unintentionally caused the death of their former best friend who he'd spent the last few decades trying to find a plan to save, rushed him to the Cult Village where he was given proper medical attention. 

James had now been effectively captured and the long process of fixing Swapsy's past mistakes could finally begin.

Daughter to the Prophets Melancholy of Peace and Jaran of War, Lunelle had a relatively normal childhood before being taken alongside her sister. 

She was sent to be a companion to Zalam, the chained God of Peace for the rest of eternity (or so they were told).

 Lunelle is a very soft spoken and shy young lady.

A bookish and socially awkward classic nerd type, he's the son of Danny and Ryan. Lyle is fascinated by all things pertaining to the Gods now that they're all but gone and unlocking the mysteries of the past. He has a fascination specifically with just how secretive everyone is about the last God, Maus.

He’s known for getting a bit too wrapped up in his research but has a particular soft spot for his best friend and research assistant, Désiré.
