This week assembly and wiring of the robot was completed. The robot arm was made more rigid with the use of nuts and bolts over just zip-ties. Additionally, the robot was finally made to fit the dimensions of the play area through the addition of hinge servo to control the raising and lowering of the clamp. The sliders for the robot arm were also cut to reduce the robot length.
It was challenging to make the robot fit into the play area using the rack and pinion design. A separate hinge motor was added to raise and lower the clamp to make the robot fit into the play area.
