Our Fundraising Philosophy

Plenty of opportunities to give, but no expectation or pressure.

In order to support quality programs and events in our district's schools, the PTO relies on donations from our generous community and holds many fundraisers throughout the year. The funds we raise purchase educational materials, and also support equity initiatives and community-building events in District 69.

We recognize that there is no one magic kind of event or fundraiser that appeals to everyone. So, we try to mix it up and offer many different opportunities to support the PTO financially. We encourage you to support the fundraisers that make the most sense for your family, but we don't expect everyone to support every fundraiser we do!

And remember, donating your time is just as important as donating money. We always appreciate VOLUNTEERS!

Flexible Seating for use in the Library at Madison Elementary allows the space to be adapted to different activities.

The Community Garden at Edison School was enjoyed and cared for by neighborhood families during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

Recent PTO Grants have supported these projects:

  • The Community Garden at Edison School

  • 3-D Printers for use in STEM projects

  • Purchasing a variety of new multicultural literature for our school libraries

  • Flexible classroom furniture, so students stay engaged and comfortable

  • Xylophones for Band and Music Classes

  • Exercise equipment and heart-rate monitors for PE classes

  • SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) Training
