On January 31, 2024, Doris Heckman hosted a group of 10 Reading-Berks Altrusa members at her lovely home. She invited her neighbor to join us and she was a welcome addition to our group. Doris provided a delicious lunch along with co-host Judy Lysczek. We joined partners with A Soldier's Hands to write note cards to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) troops which number 7,200. We shared letter writing ideas, and it was a privilege to write words of pride, encour- agement, and gratitude for our troops. A great time was enjoyed by all with much laughter. Through our efforts, we finished 102 heart-filled notes! In addition, some lucky troop members will find their cards adorned with art work done by our artistic members!
