For years, Disney has not made a waterpark, except for the ones in Florida. Heck- every single Disney resort other than Disney World has not recieved a waterpark! Disneyland is a place where the climate is generally dry and hot, with little to no rain- the perfect place for a waterpark! That's why with DisneylandForward Phase 2, a fresh new waterpark will join the resort lineup with San Fransokyo-
Disney's Lost Kingdoms Waterpark.
A place where four lost kingdoms come alive. The waterpark is located on the forward expansion pad for Disneyland, between the parking lot and Disneyland Hotel. This little space is perfect for a 20 acre sized waterpark...
ENTERING THE PARK
With WestCot Springs's renovation in Phase 1, the shopping district was split into the Future World section (right of the Esplanade) and the World Showcase section (left). The World Showcase is a merged journey through all four corners of the world and highlights Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. The entrance to the waterpark is in the Europe corner, with its West Dragon Tower, a European-themed hotel. Upon going through ticketing, by accessing one of two Harmonium Onyx portals (more on that later), you can enter the park.
Disney's Lost Kingdoms waterpark is split into four main lands, all of which spread out from the Centrepoint of the park- this being Celestial Mountain, a mythical volcano that contains a very special metal- Harmonium Onyx, a metal that can create portals that jump across the worlds. Secret tunnels wrap around the park, which allow you to "teleport" between lands. The park features a wave pool, two normal pools, 16 water pools, 4 water playgrounds, a lazy river, and more.
Stories never die. They are eternal myths, passed down from generation to generation. Whether the lost kingdom the story describes represented sanctuary, forbode, or revenge, the idea of a "Lost Kingdom" remains prevalent in our society. In doing so, this type of story has created a multitude of treasured cities that become household names- like El Dorado or Atlantis. However, in due time, humans replicate these ideas, and this architecture, as art imitates life. This is why the Lost Kingdoms are never really lost- we have brought them back to life.
