The Bridge Kit showed how much stronger the bridge would become with trusses on the sides. It used the concepts of trusses, compression, and tension to strengthen what was originally a plain index card that spanned the gap. Through this, we learned that with the trusses, the load being tested on the bridge is spread out over the span of the bridge (depending on where the trusses are), allowing what was once a weak structure to hold significantly more weight. In our case, the plain index card held 3 nuts, and the final version held 11.
