COMM 4350 - SPRING 2021

This was the perfect last semester of college class for me. It combined both my disciplines perfectly and let me create practical work for my portfolio. I was able to create a breadth of work from logo design, to social media, to screenprint t-shirts, to letterhead and promotional items.

Photojournalism

COMM 3700 - FALL 2020

This class was stressful. I learned so much about the technical aspects of taking journalistic pictures. I also learned about many infamous photojournalists. However, I did not enjoy this class. I did not like having to ask strangers for personal information and I couldn't keep up with my grades because they were never posted. I knew I have never been interested in journalism specifically and this class peaked my anxiety. To top it off, Covid-19 made it even worse to try and approach people. I appreciate what I learned in this class and I love the images that resulted, but I would not want to take it again and did not take any of the subsequent classes.

Conservation of Biodiversity

ESC 1100 FALL 2018

As I was never a science major, this class was perfect for my science general education course. It was hosted completely asynchronously online. This class gave me a general overview of biodiversity and how I could make an impact to converse it. It included many projects that required me to go outside and document the different species I could find. I also did research into specific species that I was assigned each week.

ART 1020 - SPRING 2018

This was the first class where I was able to create 3-D art. The first and most notable project was called the 2x4 project. We were tasked with carrying around a 2x4 for a full week and documenting the experience. I both took pictures and made journal entries about the experience. In the end, we created a sculpture with it. I showed how the project originally made me feel like all eyes were on me, but I gained solace in bonding with other art majors that were doing the same thing and all my friends wanted pictures with my 2x4 so it really became a unifying thing. We went on to create something out of pallette wood and then a bigger scale sculpture. I learned a great deal about sculpture, but I also found out it wasn't the medium for me.
