Studio Rules

If you or your student choose to take lessons at my studio, then please follow these studio rules below!

Other rules I did not mention here will be found in the FAQ as well as Contact Me tabs.

1. Always bring your notebook as well as your piano books or sheet music to your lessons. Doing so would effectively let me write down what homework you or your student should do following their lessons.

2. Students must traditionally come to the lesson on time! Sure, traffic does get in the way, but still, plan your time wisely!

3. Bringing your own bottled water is optional. If you need a drink of water, the bottles are provided for a reason. Please ask me first before you do so! Keep in mind if you drink from a bottle provided, it is yours to take.

4. Always ask before using the restroom if needed! The restroom is located after you take the first left from the lesson room, walk 3-4 steps, and then take the second left. You will see the toilet in the distant room ahead! Keep in mind that using the restroom during your lesson time will count as being away from the room, and students doing so will receive an extra set of minutes depending on how long they used the restroom.

5. All families normally have a one week window to pay after each lesson. Failure to pay one week after the previous lesson will result in twice the payment after the next lesson. Check the FAQ to learn more about your preferred payment frequency.

6. You can ask me questions all you like, but make sure they are related to YOUR LESSON ONLY! If you ask me a question unrelated to your lesson, not only I will answer it at the end of class if time-permitting, but also issue additional lesson time if this keeps going.

7. All families that have general questions about my studio must please go to the Contact Me tab to start asking me questions.

8. All sick students are allowed to come to lessons, but must bring facemasks under those conditions. If students are really sick to the point of needing to lay down, they can have their lessons canceled as needed.

9. No cursing please! Watch your language!

10. NO UNDRESSING AND OR PRIVATE EXPOSURE! PLEASE! This is a classroom for crying out loud! Not a changing or locker room!

11. No motorized toys allowed! Plushies as well as static or action figurines are okay!

12. Unless they are taking lessons, babies and or very small children are NOT allowed in the studio at all!

13. No pets allowed!

14. No wandering both DOWNSTAIRS (except if you need to use the restroom) and UPSTAIRS during and after the lesson!* 

15. All students must remain seated throughout their own lesson time! If they really need to wander somewhere, ALWAYS ASK ME FIRST!

16. All lessons are offered during Spring, Summer, and Christmas breaks! If you or your students have vacation plans set, please let me know ASAP!

17. Always do your assigned homework with due diligence! This means that every day, please spend an average of 15-30 minutes practicing (or up to 1 hour if you're advanced). This is beneficial not just for me as a teacher, but also for you as a student! I do not care if your homework is done in an instant, the day after class, or the day before. I just wanted your homework to be done any day, and any time before our next class.

18. If a student fails to follow any of the rules above, they will be given additional lesson time that corresponded to how long the failure lasts.

    1. For example: If a student either wanders outside the lesson room or initiates an off-topic conversation for 5 minutes total, they will receive an extra 5 minutes to their lesson time!

    2. Another example: If a student comes to and starts class late by 10 minutes, they will receive 10 extra minutes to their lesson time, meaning that their lesson will end 10 minutes late!

*This rule is exceptional to students who are "close friends" with both me and my family; those said students are allowed to wander downstairs after their lessons finish, but still NO UPSTAIRS!
