Gurpreet Singh is a PMRF scholar (May 2021 cycle) in the Disease and Injury Mechanics Lab (DIML). He is working on the computational modeling of the diabetic foot and its ulceration progression. He is also working on developing artificial human tissue surrogates for injury and disease modeling. Previously, much of his work has been on improving the surface characteristics and bioactivity of metallic biomaterials, with research interests including surface engineering, materials science, biomaterials, and non-conventional machining processes. He worked on the surface modification of metallic biomaterials using electro-discharge machining, where he studied the bioactivity of modified surfaces in terms of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and other biological responses. He has authored/edited 3 books and contributed 50+ research papers and book chapters to leading international journals and conferences. He is the recipient of the Top Cited Paper Award 2023 for his review article on 'Mechanical Properties of Whole-body Soft Human Tissues: A Review' by IOP Publishing and the Research Excellence Travel Award by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi for this significant research contribution. He also serves as a reviewer for prominent international journals of repute.

Shivam Verma is a Ph.D. Scholar in the Disease and Injury Mechanics Lab (DIML). His research interests are in Mechanical Vibration, Finite Element Modelling, Vibrational Analysis, Computational Modelling, Whole-Body Vibration, and Biomechanics. Before joining the Disease and Injury Mechanics Lab, he graduated in Design Engineering from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, Punjab in 2022. His M.Tech. thesis was entitled, "Active Vibration Control and Finite Element Model Updating of Smart Structure". He completed his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering in 2017 from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Mohammad Afazal is a research scholar in the Disease and Injury Mechanics Lab (DIML). He is employed as a faculty member in the University Polytechnic, Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), New Delhi. He has work experience at CSIR- Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee, where, for his extraordinary research work, he was honoured with “Young Scientist Award” from Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST). He has completed his M. Tech in CAD from Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Dwarka, Delhi, and B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from DR. KN Modi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Modi Nagar, Ghaziabad.
Research Interests: Dental Trauma, Dental Prosthetics, Dental Materials, and Biomechanics.

Subhodip Chatterjee defended his PhD thesis entitled 'Modeling and Mitigation of Unexpected Slips and Falls in Hospitals' on 26th July, 2023. He has completed his M.Tech. in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, West Bengal, and B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the West Bengal University of Technology. After his PhD, he joined B.P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology, Kolkata, as an Assistant Professor in August 2023 and later National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore, as a postdoctoral research associate in August 2024.
Research Interests: Injury Diagnostics, Slip Biomechanics, Ergonomics, and Footwear Slip Testing.

Vivek Gupta defended his PhD thesis entitled 'Development of Auxetic Skin Grafts with High Expansion Potential' on 11th March, 2023. He completed his B.Tech. in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from J.S.S. Academy of Technical Education, Noida, in 2017. In 2019, he completed his M.Tech. in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. Later, he joined as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at the Indian Institute of Patna, India, in July 2019, and then at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in December 2019 as a PhD scholar. After his PhD, he joined as a Senior Mechatronics Engineer at Next Big Innovation Labs, Bengaluru, and later Wol3D in April 2025 as Business Development Manager in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Research Interests: Auxetics, Skin Grafting, Additive Manufacturing, and Product Design.

Shubham Gupta defended his PhD thesis entitled 'Modeling of Slip and Fall of Worn Footwear' on 15th April, 2025. He was a PMRF scholar in the Disease and Injury Mechanics Lab (DIML). He completed his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pune in 2019. His knack for mechanical systems and robotics lead him to pursue defence projects from DRDO. He has also participated in several national-level competitions such as ROBOCON. His research interests are computational analysis of footwear, slip testing, finite element modeling, healthcare product development, and integration of robotics in medical applications. He aims to integrate different fields of engineering that would produce impressive technologies to benefit mankind. After his PhD, he joined Queen Mary University of London as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in June 2025.
