Exercise sheets:
A new exercise sheet will appear each Monday on eCampus, to be handed in on the following Monday in the lecture.
To be admitted to the exam, one needs to obtain at least 50% of the total amount of points over all exercise sheets. The exercises designated as "extras" are voluntary and do not give points.
Solutions can be handed in either alone or in groups of two people. If you hand in as a group of two, write both your names on your solutions; you only get points for solutions that have your name on them. It is still everybody's individual responsibility to make sure that they reach the necessary 50% of all points to be admitted to the exam.
If you want to submit your solutions in some other way than in the lecture (for instance, by e-mail), please write or speak directly to your tutor to ask them for permission. Submissions after Monday morning at 10:00 will not be accepted.

Contents: This is the plan for the course:
1. Integral rings of number fields, prime ideal factorization in number fields, Minkowski's bound for the class number, Dirichlet's unit theorem
2. Dedekind zeta functions, Dirichlet L-series, distribution of ideals, and the residue formula
3. (if time permits) an application: the first case of Fermat's last theorem for regular primes

Exam: The (written) exam will take place on 19.02.2024 from 9-11 (s.t.) in the Großer Hörsaal at Wegelerstr. 10. The repeat exam will take place on 11.03.2024 from 9-11 (s.t.) in the Großer Hörsaal at Wegelerstr. 10.
