ENC4834: Issues in Publishing

This project was done by August Rogers for their ENG 4834 Final Project. This article analyzes the representation of contemporary gardens and compares them to the African sweep garden to unpack the underlying influences of colonialism and colonization on what makes and defines a 'garden.' This project delves into the meaning of the traditional African sweep garden to its cultivators, how the space is used, how colonization and colonialism have impacted those gardening spaces, and how gardens are defined today. The findings of this project are presented as a magazine article that August designed, formatted, and edited.Â
