An easy process for even Grade 3 students.
Hyperlinks are added to sections of the text (e.g. click here if you choose this path). You cannot check the hyperlinks within the Book Creator app. You have to upload the book to an e-reader platform (e.g. iBooks) to make sure it works. However, it is easy enough to go back into Book Creator to make the appropriate changes.
A lot of the student exploration will be in the organizing of material for their stories - the choice tree, as it were, and then shifting that knowledge into a digital format.
Put page numbers ON the story pages, don’t rely on the page markers at the top of the app banner
Looks like all book formats (portrait, square, and landscape) work well, but it is important to switch on the option to see one page at a time. This is done while the book is on the “bookshelf”. Press and hold on the title and “iBook display settings” comes up. Select “single pages”. I found that the finished product looks less crowded and it seems easier to navigate.
