《本プロジェクトについて》

本研究プロジェクトでは、情報ネットワーク社会における人間の「死」の扱いについて、人間・法制度・技術の各方面から検討し、問題点を体系的に整理して再定義した上で、検討すべき課題を提示することを目的としています。

個人に関する膨大なデジタル情報は、既にネットワークを介して共有され蓄積されています。個人の死後に残されたデジタル情報に関するプライバシーや、デジタル資産の扱いは、既に高齢化社会で取り組むべき課題でありながら、社会的な合意や法制度が整備されているとは言えません。さらには、残されたデータを元に人工知能（AI）から故人の人格や頭脳を再構成する際の法的妥当性や倫理についても、検討が必要です。

その意味から、ネットワーク上での「死亡」の定義は、生物としての死亡とは異なるのかもしれません。本研究では、「死」の再定義から死後のデータの扱いについて、関連研究、実証研究ならびに多分野の専門家との討議を行いながら、検討をしていきます。

《Overview》

The purpose of this research project is to examine the treatment of human "death" in our information network society. This project will be conducted from the perspectives of humanity, law, and technology to redefine and present issues about “death” in the digital age.

A vast amount of digital information about individuals is already being shared and stored via networks. The privacy of digital information left behind after the death of an individual and the handling of digital assets are already issues to be addressed in an aging society, but there is no social consensus or legal system in place. Furthermore, the legal validity and ethics of reconstructing the personality and brain of the deceased from the data left behind by artificial intelligence (AI) need to be considered.

In this sense, the definition of "death" in the digital age may be different from death as an organism. Our project will redefine "death" in the digital age through related studies, empirical studies, and discussions with experts in a variety of fields.
