Step one: Open Webex. On the Macs in our classrom, Webex is pre-installed. To find it (or to find anything on a Mac), press Command Spacebar to get a Search field, and type Webex, then Return/Enter.
If you want Webex on your own computer, Download and install Webex.
Log in using your CCRI credentials.
On the first Sign In screen for Webex, please enter your full CCRI student name including the @my.ccri.edu
Next, you will be prompted to enter Webex through the CCRI portal. For this, only enter your CCRI username without the @my.ccri.edu
The password is the same as your other CCRI logins (email, MyCCRI, etc.)
Your Display Name is set up as your email address by default. Change it to your preferred first name and include your last name. You will find this option by clicking on the round icon in the upper left hand corner of Webex.
A photo, artwork, texture , etc.
You can set a status, or change the color of the application background (mine is in 'dark mode').
Click on my name bubble and send me a Hello by direct message (DM). Clicking my name bubble will open a private window. Hover your cursor/mouse, over your to bring up the action bar and click "edit message." Add to your hello my name so that it reads (hello Dan). Now you know how to edit a message.
In your message let me know:
what you like to be called (preferred name/or nick name).
Your degree program, major, guided pathway, or enrichment at CCRI
Anything else you want to share or make me aware of. For anyone who has an accommodation agreement through DSS, please take the time to talk to me about implementation for our class.
