Course Description:
This self-paced, web-based training module is designed to equip 4th and 5th grade students with foundational digital literacy skills necessary for success in middle school and beyond. The training focuses on developing typing fluency and proper technique, navigating productivity tools such as Google Docs and Microsoft Word, practicing safe and responsible online behavior, and exploring basic coding concepts through interactive platforms. Students will work through interactive lessons, practice exercises, and a digital project that applies the skills they’ve learned. The module supports independent learning, builds technology readiness, and helps ease the instructional burden on classroom teachers.
Course Requirements
To successfully complete this training, students should be self-motivated, comfortable with a self-paced learning environment, and have basic keyboarding skills. The following resources will be needed:
