Select from one of two options:
You should document your summer holiday break as either a 2 to 3m video or photo gallery. However, you must do this to a specific genre and in the style of a well- known director, photographer or film-style. E.g. Arthouse, vintage, film noir. The genre can be comedy, horror, thriller, action, etc.
The challenge is not just taking video or photos, but framing them in such a way to fit the narrative, deliberately choosing what to show or not, editing to fit your choices. Your phone camera is absolutely fine for this task and as part of your School Adobe license, you have access to Adobe Premiere Elements (a simplistic video editor), as well as other programs such as Photoshop, lightroom, Premiere Pro, etc.
You must accompany your film/photographic collection with a summary of the artistic choices, along with how your work fits your selected genre.
You are to write (script) a short 3m short film, cast, shoot and edit. Formatted as a traditional script, each page is roughly 1m of footage.
Your phone camera is absolutely fine for this task and as part of your School Adobe license, you have access to Adobe Premiere Elements (a simplistic video editor), as well as other programs such as Premiere Pro, AfterEffects. The latter two programs are NOT straight-forward, but we will be using them in the course, so getting advanced use of these will be beneficial. There are a plethora of tutorials on YouTube if you want to go advanced.
We have a vast array of assets, vfx, music, etc., which you’ll have access to on the course, but for now, you need to use your creativity to find what you need.

Your A2 year will comprise of one piece of coursework: your personal project. There are still theoretical concepts to teach this year, so the summer work will support your planning ready for September, making this year smoother.
