Clay Tools 3: Texture Roller

Size: Max height: 100mm (~4 inches). Width: 25-40mm (~1-1.5 inches)

Process:

• Design

  • Use the Duplicate tool to help create a circular array of shapes

  • Combine the shapes

  • Resize the tool to the design parameters

  • Consider:

    • How does the Shape/Surface change?

    • Does it have a particular orientation? What if you mirror it?

    • What does the inside look like? What if you treated the shapes as a hole, and subtracted from a solid shape inside?

    • Will it produce overhangs needing support?

    • Scale, repetition, variation

  • Goto Design>Download For 3D Printing. Select the "Download the selected shape" box, and press the ".STL" button

  • Name your file in the format - ABC123-description

    • ABC - your initials

    • 123 - Unique ID to keep file versions obvious

    • description - something that can help you recognize the file

  • Transfer your design to your USB

• Print

  • Each of these parts will take about 1-2hrs, and will run during Monday Afternoon, after the Stamps are complete

  • Have a design ready by Lunch

  • Consider scaling the design (in Cura) in one or 2 directions to augment the design.
