Clay Tools 2: Extruder Die

Size: 77mm x 77mm x 12mm (use template)

Process:

• Design

  • Start with the Die Inset Template on TinkerCAD

  • Create a Hole shape to make the die shape

  • Bevel the top edge, if possible, using the Cone, Pyramid, or Roof (Green triangle) shape

  • ADVANCED DESIGN CHALLENGE: For a die with a suspended shape (hollow form extrusion)

    • Use the InterChangeable Extruder Base template

    • Align the suspended shape in the center of the base

    • Make sure the suspended part is no more than 41mm tall

    • use two of the "hole" cross-bars to make holes for the bolts

• Download

  • Goto Design>Download For 3D Printing. Select the "Download the selected shape" box, and press the ".STL" button

  • Name your file in the format - ABC123-description

    • ABC - your initials

    • 123 - Unique ID to keep file versions obvious

    • description - something that can help you recognize the file

  • Transfer your design to your USB

• Print

  • Each of these parts will take about 1-2hrs, so it will run with 2 or 3 others, overnight
