Project overview

The name DIGIDEM is derived from a combination of the words “digital” and “democracy”.

The DIGIDEM project is strives to promote digital citizenship among higher education students across Europe by developing a comprehensive curriculum and an interactive online educational ecosystem. Through the integration of innovative teaching methodologies and technological tools, DIGIDEM aims to provide participants with advanced digital skills, foster critical digital literacy and foster responsible online engagement.

Our wonderful team reunited for the DIGIDEM's kick-off meeting on November 18-19, 2024 in Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA), France !

Key components

DIGIDEM focuses on two main pillars: curriculum development and the creation of an online educational environment.

The curriculum will be designed to provide transformative learning experiences, incorporating essential modules on digital literacy, critical thinking, disinformation detection, media literacy, online civic engagement and awareness of hate speech.

Alongside this, the project will establish a NetizenSphere, a dynamic and interactive platform designed to facilitate engaging digital learning experiences, encourage collaboration among students, educators and institutions, and support the sharing of best practices and educational resources.

A transformative approach

Designed for students, teachers, educators, administrators and associations, DIGIDEM fosters critical thinking, media literacy and active digital participation. The project aims to actively combat misinformation and enhances digital awareness by incorporating gamification elements, making learning both effective and engaging.

Through its comprehensive approach, DIGIDEM aims to shape a more ethical and informed digital society, where individuals can confidently navigate the complexities of the online world.
