Poster Topics
We encourage submissions that explore innovative approaches and present novel findings in digital epidemiology, intending to advance our understanding of disease dynamics and improve public health outcomes. We're open to a wide range of topics, such as:
Digital data for disease surveillance and outbreak detection
Innovative methodologies for analyzing digital health data
Application of machine learning and artificial intelligence in epidemiological research
Social media and online platforms for epidemiological studies
Digital contact tracing and disease transmission modeling
Harnessing wearable devices and mobile applications for health monitoring

Ethical considerations in digital epidemiology research

Proposal Submission Requirements
We're seeking submissions for ongoing research that hasn't been published elsewhere. While we encourage works in progress, they should present original ideas or new connections between research fields. The main submission body, including figures and tables, should be no more than 8 pages, with an additional page allowed for references. There's no limit on supplementary material, but reviewers will focus mainly on the main submission body.
Submissions must be made anonymously as a single PDF through the CMT portal.
Must follow the Scientific Poster's format. (See below the complete guidelines)
All submissions will undergo double-blind peer review. Some accepted poster will be invited for a contributed talk, while the rest will be presented at poster sessions. There is no workshop proceedings.
Poster Formatting Guidelines
Size: Commonly accepted poster sizes include A0 (841 x 1189 mm) and 36 x 48 inches. Check the specific requirements of the conference.
Orientation: Usually portrait, but some conferences accept landscape. Verify with the event guidelines.
Font: Use legible fonts like Arial, Helvetica, or Times New Roman.
Title: 72-120 points
Headings: 48-72 points
Body text: 24-36 points
Captions: 18-24 points
Margins: Leave at least a 1-inch (2.54 cm) margin on all sides.
Content Structure
Title: Clearly state the research topic.
Include the names of the authors and their affiliations.
Title should be concise and reflect the content of the research.
Introduction: Provide background information and state the research objectives.
Briefly describe the problem and why it’s important.
Methods: Describe the methodology used in the research.
Include sufficient detail for others to understand how the research was conducted.
Results: Present the findings of the research.
Use graphs, tables, and images to illustrate results.
Ensure all figures are high-resolution and clearly labeled.
Discussion/Conclusion: Interpret the results and explain their significance.
Discuss how the findings contribute to the field.
References: Cite all sources used in the research poster.
Use a consistent citation style (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago).
Acknowledgements: Acknowledge funding sources and contributors.
Contact Information: Provide contact details for the lead author (e.g., email, phone).
To ensure your poster is included in the upcoming conference, please adhere to the following submission schedule:
The full poster submission, including all high-resolution images and graphs, is due by August 12, 2024. Early submissions are encouraged to allow ample time for review and any necessary revisions. Notifications of acceptance will be sent out by August 15, 2024 and final revisions must be completed and resubmitted by August 30, 2024. Please ensure all files are submitted in PDF format and adhere to the specified file size limits.
