I have loved singing since always and discovered musicals in my late teenage days. Studying and living in Paris has given me great opportunities to go to theaters and to know talented artists. After defending the thesis, in the middle of the Covid pandemic, I finally decided to seriously invest in my passion and train myself as an artist in musicals. After one year of intensive weekend training at AICOM, I started playing with troupes.
At the current stage, I consider myself semi-professional in the sense that I am not making a living with it (and probably will not since being a researcher is also a challenging job just like being an artist), but I seek professionalism in all the projects that I am engaged in, and commit to training in singing, dancing, and acting. Once again, parallels can be found: preparing a show is just like writing a paper: both are creative activities and require entrepreneurial mindsets, hard work, collaboration, and project management skills.
Check below for my ongoing and past projects. I also occasionally do movie figurations. I am comfortable singing and playing in French, English, and Mandarin.

Grimm
"Grimm" is an original creation based on the Grimm brothers' stories.
Plot: MARBOUG, 1806: Fascinated by ancient tales, Wilhelm Grimm travels across Prussia, determined to collect and preserve forgotten stories.
When he stops in a remote village, a chance encounter sets him on an unexpected journey to a place he never imagined could exist—the Enchanted Forest.
There, he discovers a world in turmoil, ruled by a Wicked Queen who has banished "happily ever afters." But hope remains in the form of an ancient prophecy—one that names him as the key to its fulfillment.
Can Grimm restore balance to the Enchanted Forest, or will he be forced to watch helplessly as it falls into darkness?
I will be playing Little Red Riding Hood, a character caught between good and evil who must find her path.

Un bal pour tous
"Un bal pour tous" is a French adaptation of the not-that-well-known 2016 Broadway musical "The prom". It is adapted into a film by Netflix in 2020. Thanks to the influence of Netflix and the stars in the casting, the film made the story more popular. Our troupe is the first to adapt it into French.
Plot: Alice, a high-school girl in Picardie who has come out as a Lesbian, wants to take her girlfriend to the end-of-year prom. However, the conservative parents of the school are trying everything to prevent her from attending the prom. Meanwhile, in the prestigious Mogador theater in Paris, the duo musical stars, Linda and Ayden, are losing their popularity and turning their latest show into a flop because of their narcissistic nature. Olivia, who has never got a chance to play a main role, is also about to be unemployed again. Eager to find a clause to fight to win popularity and save their careers, the three of them found the story of Alice on Instagram and decided to go all the way to Saint-Sebastien High School to help Alice gain the entrance to the prom...
I will be playing Linda Linn, the equivalent of Dee Dee Allen in the movie, starred by Meryl Streep. I am really thrilled about this opportunity! The rehearsals are ongoing, and we will soon communicate the dates.

L'élixir d'éternité
"L'élixir d'éternité" is an original musical (in French) based on two famous Chinese mythology stories. Several characters in Classics of Mountains and Seas, the collection of Chinese mythology stories, also appear in the show.
Plot: Hou Yi, the royal archer and semi-god, got exiled to the human world by Emperor Jade after his mistake in killing nine out of ten suns in the sky. He is deemed to find the elixir that could bring him back immortality. On his way, he met Chang E and fell in love with her. However, the request for the elixir is not as easy as it seems. He could not have imagined that, after succeeding in all the challenges and after bringing the elixir back home to share with his love, he would be facing the most tragic moment of his life...
I will be interpreting Mifei, a nymph of the Luo River. She has breathtaking beauty and holds the secret of where to find the elixir. However, there is a price to pay to get the secret. I will also be supporting roles in other numbers: one of the ten suns, one part of a nine-head hydra, and a servant in the Eastern Garden.
The show lasts for 75 minutes without intermission.
It has been a fun and enriching experience to play a musical that talks about my culture with talented artists!

La Petite Sirène
"La Petite Sirène" is the French adaptation of "The Little Mermaid" and is inspired by the original story of Andersen, the Disney movie, and the Broadway musical. It is the first show of the new troupe - The Musical Production.
Plot: Coraille (the little mermaid) is the youngest daughter of Triton, king of the ocean, and has six mermaid daughters. Unlike her sisters who are happy about their lives under the sea, Coraille has always been fascinated by the human world. On her coronation day, she came to the surface of the sea and fell in love with Prince Florent at the first sight. Ever since she went more and more often to the surface and one day, she saved the life of the prince from a sinking ship in the middle of a storm. Coraille finally decided to ask the sea witch to transform her into a human to be able to live with the prince. However, she will give up her beautiful voice and will die if the prince does not fall in love with her within 48 hours...
I played Médusine, one of Coraille's sisters, who is jealous of her but eventually helped her to get her voice back.
The show lasts for 2.5 hours, including an intermission of 15 minutes.
Dates: November 19, 20, and 21, 2022, @ MPAA Saint German, Paris
