"Conversations about Language Teaching" is a podcast of unscripted discussions of language teaching, drawing on both research and classroom & online language teaching. If you like thinking deeply about issues of classroom language teaching and how those relate to research and theory, this podcast might be for you.
In summer 2023, Cheng & Tsui published my book, Comprehension-Based Chinese: Comprehension-Based Language Teaching Strategies to Develop Students' Chinese Proficiency in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. It is an ebook only available through Cheng & Tsui's ebook platform, which allows easy access to video links and other linked resources and templates.
It is like a recipe book for Chinese language teaching. There is guidance about how to choose and carry out instructional activities for different goals, with students’ comprehension as the basis for their development of language proficiency and intercultural learning.
