RYSE reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to use the name, information and photographs of the entrants without obtaining any consent from the entrants or providing any payment whatsover to the entrants for any nonprofit endeavors, publicity advertising, trade or promotion purposes in any format or media now known, or hereafter, devised throughout the world in perpetuity.
By entering this competition, participants agree to be bound by the rules of this competition.
By entering this competition, participants hereby warrant that all information submitted are true, current and complete. RYSE reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all participants and disqualify any participant for submitting false information.
The personal data collected will be processed by RYSE to administer participants participation in this competition. By entering this competition, participants are giving consent to RYSE to use the information for its purposes. RYSE will take all the physical, technical and organisational measures needed to ensure security and confidentiality of the entrant’s personal data provided.
RYSE reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition or the rules at its sole discretion and without notice. Any changes will be an amendment to the terms and conditions of the competition.
In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to the competition, the decision of RYSE shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
The competition and the rules are and will be governed by Malaysian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
RYSE would not be responsible: -
For any cost, injury, loss and damages suffered from participation in the competition OR
Any delay of submission or failure to participate in this competition beyond the control of RYSE.
Prizes
Prizes are non-transferable. RYSE reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value at any time at its sole discretion.
Prizes are awarded at the RYSE’s discretion and no prizes will be awarded as a result of improper actions by or on behalf of any entrant. RYSE (acting reasonably) reserve the right not to select a winner if entries are not of the requisite standard.
RYSE reserves the right to request written proof of age and/or identity of any entrant including the winner. Where no such written proof is produced, or the entrant is not of the requisite age, RYSE may at its discretion disqualify the entrant.
In the event that any competition winner is subsequently disqualified from a competition for any reason, RYSE in its sole discretion may decide whether a replacement winner should be selected in accordance with the competition criteria.
RYSE reserves the first right of refusal for publication of winning artwork/manuscript.
Short Story & Poetry
Participants must be a Malaysian citizen, aged between 16 to 28 years old at the time of submission.
Participants must not be a staff at RYSE, ASB or Citi Foundation or a direct family member of a staff at RYSE, ASB or Citi Foundation.
Participants must not be part of the judging panel, a staff of the judges’ companies, or a direct family member of the judges.
Participants aged 18 and under are required to obtain consent from their parents or legal guardian to participate.
Comic (Student)
Participants must be a Malaysian citizen, aged between 16 to 18 years old at the time of submission.
Participants must not be a staff at RYSE, ASB or Citi Foundation or a direct family member of a staff at RYSE, ASB or Citi Foundation.
Participants must not be part of the judging panel, a staff of the judges’ companies, or a direct family member of the judges.
Participants age 18 and under are required to obtain consent from their parents or guardian to participate.
Comic (Young Adult)
Participants must be a Malaysian citizen, aged between 19 to 28 years old at the time of submission.
Participants must not be a staff at RYSE, ASB or Citi Foundation or a direct family member of a staff at RYSE, ASB or Citi Foundation.
Participants must not be part of the judging panel, a staff of the judges’ companies, or a direct family member of the judges.
All entries should be submitted on/before the closing date on 20 February 2021 at 11:59 p.m. All late submissions will not be acknowledged.
Entries that are incomplete, unclear or illegible will be automatically disqualified.
Only one entry per participant. However, participants will allow to submit entries for other categories in the Diam ² Ubi Berisi competition.
Each entry must include:
An official submission form, duly filled in.
The complete artwork/manuscript in either PDF, JPEG & PNG.
A recent profile photograph of the participant in soft copy.
A short biography of the participant not more than 50 words.
A summary of the manuscript/artwork not more than 100 words.

General Content Guidelines
Be the original, genuine and authentic work of the participant. The entry and any information submitted must not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or any other rights of any third party.
Be unpublished works (this includes content published on blogs or any other website publications including various social media websites).
RYSE reserves the rights to use and edit your submitted work for clarity in any promotional or printed materials for non-profit purposes.
refrain from including any types of restricted content (and not limited to):
nudity, profanity or vulgar behaviour;
graphic violence, or any inappropriate materials as determined by RYSE, in their sole discretion;
dangerous stunts;
real weapons of any kind; drug use;
material that is hateful, tortuous or slander;
material that promotes prejudice, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination or exploitation based on race, sex, religion, disability, age or any other basis protected by law; and
material that is likely to cause offence to any person, or to injure the name, reputation or standing of any person in any way, directly or indirectly.
Be in either Bahasa Malaysia or English Language only.

4. The entry should not exceed 40 lines (excluding the title, name of author and word count).

Comic Category
Please adhere to these regulations:
Submission should be in JPEG or PNG file in the highest quality.
Artwork must include the title and author name at the beginning.
Artwork must have a minimum of 1 page and a maximum of 9 pages.
Each panel must be at least 7CM in length, and 7CM wide. Participants are allowed to use any shape for the panel except for the first panel.
All text must be a minimum of 0.5cm tall or 12pt in size.
Artwork can be produced digitally or hand-drawn.
Artwork can be comic and/or graphic novel style.
Artwork can be in black and white or/and coloured.
All entry must be soft copy. RYSE does not accept hard copy artwork.
Artwork can either be in landscape and/or portrait.
Be unpublished works (this includes content published on blogs or any other website publications including various social media websites).

The committee will check details concerning the eligibility of the authors and the manuscripts submitted.
Only artwork of the participants who meet the criteria will be accepted and sent to the judges.
RYSE (acting reasonably) reserves the right to remove or amend selection criteria and/or the structure and operation of the competition if entries are not of the requisite standard.
An independent panel of judges will be selected by RYSE. The panel of judges will select the winners from the artworks submitted.
The judges’ decision is final and no appeals or correspondence will be entertained.
