Vannitha Balasingam is the founder of The Bookshop at A Word Affair and the Itch 2 Switch book exchange programme.
A Word Affair, a fluid collection of ventures related to books, words and language, follows a 20-year career as a feature writer, copywriter and subeditor.
Vannitha is also a 3-time National Scrabble Champion and has represented Malaysia at four world championships and numerous other major International tournaments since taking up competitive Scrabble seriously in 1999.

Surina was a practising lawyer for 20 years before she decided to open up her own book cafe, BACA - The Reading Room & Cafe in Temerloh, Pahang.
She is a book collector concentrating on Malay antiquarian books and was the editor of Avizandum, the bulletin of The Pahang Bar Committee from 2003-2005.
She also started her own publishing company, BACA Press, in 2016, and ran several essay and short story competitions for young Malaysians.
In 2017, Surina was part of Temerloh Creative Platform which hosted Kome Art Fest and Suka Art Fest, festivals which showcased artistic and cultural talents including musical performances, traditional arts, traditional culinary, film networks and book writings.
Surina currently teaches in a private school in Janda Baik.

Maggie is a Shoe Magician of MTMT Designs & Studio Master of MTMT Studios.
A graduate of a business degree and ventured into her passion in art.
She has customers from all around the world and has sold up to 325++ pairs of shoes and housed almost 600+ students to date.
She is currently en route to build a local art community with the aim to inspire more people to believe in the industry.
