DEVELOPMENT OF INTELLIGENT TECHNIQUES BASED ON COMBINED ANALYSIS OF CURRENTS AND STRAY-FLUXES FOR THE DIAGNOSIS OF NEW FAULT TYPOLOGIES AND OPERATING CONDITIONS IN INDUCTION MOTORS (MOTOINDU) (REF: CIAICO/2021/020)
The objective of this project consists in the development of new intelligent diagnostic techniques, based on the combined analysis of electrical magnitudes such as stray fluxes and currents, for the diagnosis of new types of failures, as well as new operating conditions that have not been previously addressed in induction motors (IM), at least with the techniques mentioned. It is intended that these new techniques go beyond those currently available, incorporating advanced methodologies based on transient analysis. The object is to take advantage of the vast experience of the group in this area to develop new tools based on stray flux analysis and transient currents that are suited for application under other operating conditions and types of failure in induction motors (IM) which have been scarcely addressed before. In this context, among the operation conditions to address are the cases of IM activated by static starters and frequency inverters. It is also intended to study the effect of different types of load on diagnostic techniques. On the other hand, some of the new faults that will be studied are: failures in bearings due to circulation of currents, missing wedges and failures in the magnetic core of stator and rotor. The implications of these faults can be very negative. Therefore, their detection would be of high value for the industry.
