Bring-your-own-projects workshop run by DVAS volunteer convener (Homestead, Edendale Farm)


- Thurs 9am – 2pm

Sculpture and pottery workshop (The Slovenian Club, Ingrams Rd, Research)

The workshop runs from 9am – 2pm on a Thursday and is held at The Slovenian Club in Ingrams Rd, Research which is about a 7-minute drive from Edendale. You can attend at any time during these hours. There are 3 pottery wheels for members to use and large benches to work at. They will have their pottery kiln up and running very soon. The building has a beautiful environment and outlook and is a fully equipped studio. We also hire life models from time to time and work over a 3 week period sculpting them to refine portrait skills or a full body pose. Everyone is welcome to join this enthusiastic and friendly group and peruse your own clay interests. Contact Ellen at 0432 438 513 for further details.

Tutored Classes (fees apply)


- Beginner Drawing and Painting, Thursdays 6pm - 8pm (Homestead, Edendale Farm)

Tutor: Jo Armstrong
Jo has been teaching art for 20 years and brings broad experience of working with students of different levels and ages. This ensures that there is an individual approach to each student. Learn the foundation principles and get guidance for your mistakes! Have fun with other students! Students work variously in different mediums but are advised to begin with charcoal, pastel and black & white paint. Practice in class and at home to improve your drawing skills. Jo will guide students from simple to more complex challenges. You are most welcome to join and practice with others in our usual Thursday workshops before or after her class.

- Adult and Children Classes (Homestead, Edendale Farm)

Tutor: Miffy Stone

Miffy has been teaching for over 30 years and graduated from Monash and Melbourne university with distinctions in Fine Arts. She is fully qualified to teach at all levels not specialising in any particular media. Miffy absolutely loves teaching and sharing her knowledge with all ages of students (children to adults) and is passionate about art and teaching. She has a strong appreciation of the creative ability of her students and helping them to build on and develop their natural talents and artistic skills at their own pace. She is also an experienced and practising artist.


Adult classes on Tuesdays

10am - 12pm and 12pm - 2.00pm

2D painting (watercolour, gouache and acrylic) and drawing (coloured pencil, graphite, charcoal, pastel, pen and ink), copic markers if requested


Children Classes on Saturdays

10am - 12pm – Teenagers (any paint and drawing medium)

12.30pm - 2pm – 6yrs to 13yrs (set activity focusing on painting and drawing)

2.15pm - 3.45pm – 6yrs – 13yrs (set activity focusing on painting and drawing)

Casual Saturdays Art at DVAS

To provide more opportunities for DVAS members to do their art at the Edendale Homestead, in 2025 we will run Casual Saturdays Art workshops. We will be open 12pm - 4pm on some Saturdays throughout the year. Dates will be announced on our website and social media.

The first workshop will run on Saturday 1 March 2025.
