About the characteristics of your department
The Department of Information Technology offers a highly specialized education in pure computer science. I chose the Department of Computer Science and Engineering to acquire the ability to create and properly operate artificial intelligence.I had no programming experience, but I learned the basics through classes, and now, with the help of my friends, I have participated in the final round of the Robot Delivery Challenge hosted by Amazon Web Services, which was featured in the news, and in a hackathon hosted by an IT company. Recently, I have been active in AI competitions held by the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence and a contest sponsored by the National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics (NINJAL).About my research
Generally, chatbots are researched and developed for the purpose of "teaching others," but I myself am aiming to realize a people-friendly society, and am conducting research and development of a dialogue system that listens attentively to what others have to say without denying it. Chuo University has a culture that facilitates interaction with other universities. I am planning to make presentations at symposiums for young researchers and obtain various certificates, which will be useful for my future career development. I have posted a video of the dialogue system under development on the Department of Information Technology's YouTube page, so please take a look.
