DI Representation works to amplify Black and Asian talent and support organisations to build inclusive leadership and representation.
We work with organisations, leaders and communities to improve diversity, equity and opportunity, helping people and organisations create environments where everyone can thrive.
Through collaboration, insight and engagement, DI Representation supports meaningful change that strengthens representation, inclusion and leadership across sectors.
OUR MISSION
The mission of Diverse and Inclusive Representation is to amplify voices and increase the hiring, advancements and exposure of Black, and Asian talent in business, across all industries and sectors, including but not exclusively across: legal, science, tech, music, media, arts and culture, transport, energy, and environmental sectors. Many of these areas have clearly identified gaps in representation and inclusion.
Longstanding efforts and actions to increase diversity and representation across all industries have had limited success and in areas where we might suggest there has been progress, there is much debate and evidence as to whether real, authentic ‘inclusion’ and ‘belonging’ is present or possible.
As well as enabling individuals to thrive, reach their full potential, and break-through barriers and glass ceilings, we recognised that Black and Asian people are disproportionately represented in the service, health, administrative, manual jobs, and essential roles with low incomes. These are roles that should be valued, that keep this country functioning.
These are roles that are hard enough without the presence of prejudice and inequality. Rarely, do we discuss and focus on those doing the leg work behind the scenes, who hold things together, manage and foster day-to-day relationships with service users. We are keen then to support and make a difference across all levels.
Diverse and Inclusive Representation aims to build community engagement as well as a comprehensive database of members from Black and Asian backgrounds across all roles and sectors throughout the country. This will be a network for discussions surrounding diversity and inclusion relating to industries/sectors including conversations about racial disparity.
