For over a decade, the Gómez family has brought hope and healing to thousands of grieving families in Honduras and across Central America. In loving memory of their daughter and sister, Melanie Gissell, they offer professional grief-recovery coaching at no cost through their nonprofit foundation.

About Us

We are the Gómez family — Sofía Gómez, Matilde Torres, Omar Gómez, and Omar Alejandro Gómez — trained and certified holistic life coaches dedicated to helping families heal after the loss of a child.

Founded in 2017, the Melanie Gissell Foundation exists to honor Melanie’s life and legacy by offering compassionate, accessible, and professional grief-recovery coaching to anyone in need.

Our Mission

To provide free grief-recovery and pain-recovery coaching to families in Honduras and Central America who have experienced the loss of a child — empowering them to heal, rebuild, and find hope for the future.

Our Story

The foundation began as a heartfelt tribute to Melanie Gissell, a beloved daughter whose memory inspires every act of service we offer. Over the past 10+ years, we have coached thousands of Central Americans, guiding them through the grief process with empathy, cultural understanding, and professional skill. Our work is rooted in compassion and the belief that no one should face loss alone.
