History makes up 25% of the PRAXIS Social Studies CKT. Within this test there is a lot of material that is covered. A few items that are included are European exploration and civilization, American independence, the 19th century and the 21st century. This review was so helpful because there were a lot of things that I had forgotten about. When going back to review before the exam, I want to use this tool to create a story line of all the events that happened. In the past I would just try and remember all of the events randomly, but creating a story with it makes it a lot more meaningful. 

Human and physical geography make up 25% of the PRAXIS Social Studies CKT. A few of the items that are included are concepts of location, distance, and direction, physical characteristics of a place, and human characteristics. I found this review to be very helpful. There are many terms on there that I had heard before but needed to be refreshed on the definition. When studying for the exam, I plan to use a blank copy of the review and fill it in the best I can. Then I will go back and look at this one, which is already filled out, to see how I did and if I missed anything. 

Economics is also 25% of the PRAXIS Social Studies CKT. Within this topic there are a lot of materials that are covered. It is first important to know that economics is not the study of money like most people think, it is the study of resources and choices. Economics also includes goods and services, earning, saving, and spending money, taxes and national debt. I think this is the section that I feel most confident about when preparing to take the exam, but I do need to remind myself that economics is more than just money. It deals with way more than that and that is something that I will focus on when studying. 

Just like all the others, government and civics is 25% of the PRAXIS Social Studies CKT. Within this some of the topics that are covered are concepts of family and community, the purpose and function of government, levels and forms of government, and characteristics of citizenships. I also feel confident in this area of the CKT, but I of course still need to review. The different levels and forms of government is an area that I will need to further study. With this review tool I plan to have a blank copy and fill it out to the best of my ability and then check it with the one that I have completed.
