Empathy is the heart of Design Thinking. It is empathy that causes Design Thinking to be a human centered approach to solving problems. Empathy is an experience that impacts how one views the world. It can be experienced in some of following ways:
Observing Others
Interviewing / Conversations with Others
Reading Stories
Combination of the steps above
We have to help train students to understand empathy through the process of asking better questions. To find better solutions for those who we are serving with Design Thinking, we have to help students learn how to ask better questions.
