Nora Novice

Nora had a hard time with understanding online learning because she did not have a clear understanding of the vocabulary and what components of online learning could help to accomplish. Once Nora completed the training from Level 1 she felt more comfortable and ready to move forward in exploration of the useful tools that could help her students in Level 2.

Timothy Tries

Timothy tried out some online tools here and there, but his comfort level was not the most advanced. He has experience with Google Docs and Google Forms and might utilize Google Slides from time to time. After having completed the professional learning in Level 2 Timothy feels more comfortable with some new digital tools. He also understands the importance of engagement, connections, and agency as he thinks through his current face-to-face lessons and considers where he can supplement with a digital tool to encourage more active learning. Timothy feels that he can now utilize some new digital tools effectively, and he looks forward to learning how to incorporate them into his current curriculum design in Level 3.

Marilyn Masterful

Marilyn had experience with numerous digital tools and her Learning Management System before beginning this professional development. As she went through examination of her current class curriculum, she discovered places where the use of digital tools could be used more effectively and in place of some in-person activities. Some of these replacements would enable students to have more choice in their learning, make connections to their personal experiences, and engage students as they learn their content. With the implementation of multiple appropriate digital tools throughout a curricular unit in an Learning Management System, Marilyn felt that she could take her class to the next level of engagement.
